Growing up in a family with limited means, I understand the financial challenges many people face. I lost my dad to cancer when I was just seven, and my mom, a single parent, did everything in her power to provide for us. When I was a freshman in high school, she said, “Kristina, I believe in you, but I can't financially support you after high school. It's time to start thinking about college and how you’re going to pay for it.”
I felt overwhelmed. I wasn't a straight-A student or a star athlete, and I thought, "How am I going to do this?" But my mom’s unwavering faith in me ignited a spark of belief within myself. She said, “You're not destined to struggle. Work hard now, and you can live the life of your dreams.”
Inspired by her words, I poured myself into researching, strategizing, and building my resumé. I treated scholarship applications like a part-time job. It paid off. I won $500,000 in scholarships, earned a double-major bachelor's degrees from Vanderbilt University and a master's degree from Belmont University—all debt-free. I wrote two books and toured the country, helping over 100,000 students fund their education.
In this journey, I’ve interviewed scholarship administrators, financial aid officers, and National Scholars, learning valuable strategies to stand out. I'm on a mission to show students how to avoid predatory lenders and graduate debt-free. I truly believe that with hard work and a solid plan, anyone can achieve their financial goals.
